C & D Elopement

It was meant to be….

Dakota reached out to me pre-Covid, looking to soak in a private ceremony on Folly Beach. Weather in Charleston this time of year we all know is unpredictable. Will it be humid or chilly? Rain or shine? The day they had chosen to tie the knot wasn’t looking ideal, but being Ohio locals they were not going to pass up on better light. It just so happens the day we planned on meeting for bridal portraits downtown they were stuck on a kayaking adventure. Strong currents pulled them away from the direction they planned, leading to us rescheduling for the next morning. I have never been happier at a kayak, we woke Saturday morning with downtown quiet. Light slowly creeped through the clouds, giving a wind whipping mood like none other. Chris & Dakota held each other tenderly, their gazes at each other were heart stopping. Call it what you may, but this day was suppose to happen just as it did.
